2013 Outlaw Rnd 1- Victoria bc

Hi guys:

It's getting really close now to start making plans to come out west again for Round 1 of the 2013 Outlaw series. For most of you from Alberta, if you have never been able to come out for this one, do your best to make it! Not only is it usually the first trial of the year for you, this year we have changed location from our usual Shawnigan Lake property, to the property of the Victoria Motorcycle Club!

I know most of the regulars have never had the chance to ride this area and you won't be disappointed. Its a well groomed, and established area that features some great riding on the 180 acres of private land that has been owned by the club since the 70's. There is a clubhouse, a bike wash area, and a very large flat parking lot suitable for camping!

Matt and I have started taping sections this last weekend, and its looking great as usual! We are looking foward to seeing as many of you as possible!

Ok guys, getting close to the trial date, so just thought I would give you an update! Matt and I finished taping all the sections today, in 20C sunshine I might add! All the sections look really great! I checked the long range forecast last night and we are supposed to keep our warm sunny weather until this weekend, when its supposed to rain for two days, then go back to mostly sunny for the following week. Perfect conditions!

Sure hope to see as many of you as possible! Its always a great start to the new season for you guys!

So who are you really and what is this event called again? I am new to this sport and I think I would like to come ride my moped with you and your family. Can i land my airplane nearby?

Of course, we actually have a vintage moped class this year so you are in luck! As well, the parking area is much bigger than the Shawnigan property so landing will be no problemo, of course, take-off might be another issue. Once we have done a background check on you or anyother of your Moped gang members, you will be allowed to come near my family!

Who is all headed to the island from the Alberta contingency?

We just got home from the longggg trip to Victoria (2500 kms). Thanks to the Fracy's for their efforts in putting on the Trial. Team Alberta had a great time and despite having no seat time prior to riding we gave it a good go. Taff and I rode vintage on Saturday with good results and lots of laughs. Sunday for the modern trial Wyatt, Taff and Ken rode steady while I kept getting left behind by my bike and Ben had a bit of mechanical issue to throw a wrench into his day. Carig put on lots of miles around the pits on his Beta as well. Great venue and we look forward to our next trial in Summerland for Outlaw round #2.

Many thanks to Team Hobow, Taff, Carig, and Smilin Ken, for making the long trip out to the coast to ride our trial! It was an amazing weekend for sure, unforgettable with the turnout, and the crazy weather! Trials riders really are the toughest and most fun people you will ever meet!
